Penetration of technology into the automotive industry with the internalization of electronic chips

At a time when the world's automobile industry is facing a serious challenge with a shortage of chips, it is expected that with the start of internalization of electronic chipsets, a new leaf will be turned in the automobile industry and a decrease in dependence on the main electronic component of the automobile after years of research.
Khodrocar- In the past three years, at the same time as the spread of the corona virus and the economic recession caused by this disease, the issue of lack of electronic cheats due to the decrease in the production of factories, the increase in demand, the sudden changes in weather and the congestion of the transportation sectors has become one of the main concerns. became the world's car manufacturers, including Iran.

Some believe that with the start of the spread of the Corona virus and the lack of buyers in the market, the automobile companies canceled all their orders to the chip manufacturing companies, and as a result, the chip manufacturing companies turned to other industries, which brought bad consequences for the automobile industry.
The findings of the Alix Partner research institute showed that the world's car manufacturers lost the opportunity to produce 7.7 million cars in 2021 due to the lack of chips.

In recent years, with changes in the structure of car production at the global level, the share of electronic equipment and parts has increased much more than in the past, and this has caused the car industry to become more dependent on chips. This causes the prices of these goods to increase during a crisis in the global markets and the shortage of goods increases.

In such a situation, which coincided with the corona epidemic and the severe market recession, car manufacturers were forced to reduce production. It caused even automobile giants such as Ford and General Motors to fill their warehouses with semi-finished cars in order to avoid the huge damage caused by the closing of factories, in order to complete the cars after the normalization of the chip production process. In the meantime, the production of some factories, such as Tesla, whose capabilities require chips, was completely stopped.

The situation of other factories was not very clear, so that Jaguar Land Rover announced that all the 2022 products of this company have the problem of lack of chips, which include Land Rover Defender, Land Rover Discovery, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque and Jaguar E-Pace.

The continuation of the global crisis of chip shortage made Ford unable to produce the cars it wanted in the desired amount, and the spokesperson of the company announced during that period that the car maker reduced its production in 8 plants across the United States, Mexico and Canada, or has stopped Other global car manufacturers had a similar situation, and in the meantime, Iran also experienced not very favorable conditions due to the imposition of sanctions and non-importation of parts on the one hand and the decrease in global production of chipsets on the other hand.

The record breaking production of semi-finished cars and their stopping in the parking lots of car manufacturers and the increase in the amount of car manufacturers' obligations made the conditions difficult for the domestic car industry and added to the losses of domestic car manufacturers and on the other hand fueled the dissatisfaction of customers.

In such a situation, Sapco, as the main supplier of Iran Khodro, has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the aim of technologically producing chipsets and integrated electronic circuits in the automotive sector. This valuable achievement, which is referred to as Iran Khodro's move to the edge of technology, is the foundation for the self-sufficiency of electronic chips in other industries.

Currently, the annual need of the automotive industry for electronic chipsets is about 2 million, and it is expected that the production price of this domestic part will be competitive with the similar foreign model.

Some believe that the situation will return to normal by next year, but others report that the chip shortage crisis will continue until 2023 and even later, and the worrisome issue among them is the closure of small and new companies that compete with the giants of the market. They do not have the power to supply the parts they need.

Now, it is expected that with the signing of this memorandum and the mass production of said chips, the crisis of shortage of electronic chips in the automobile industry and other industries will end.
